After hours spent combing the Web, in January of 2001, Machine Design released its list of Web sites that went beyond colorful home pages and product spec sheets. Bird Precision’s site was included among the sites Machine Design termed “the best reference to online information yet.”
Think Really Small
The site for Bird Precision holds a micro-orifice design guide to help viewers better design small components. The company boasts that their manufacturing methods can produce feature as small as .00029 in. Its design expertise includes small nozzles, orifices, restrictors, and leak ports.
The guide is quite detailed and goes on for several pages. The company promises to respond to users within 24 hours after submitting their filled-in form. In addition, a technical-paper section holds titles such as Synthetic Sapphire and Ruby: How it is produced and Assembly Techniques for Jewel Assemblies.
